How to Calculate Textile weight:
If you want to find the 1 m2 weight of a textile;
You cut a 100cm2 round sample out of it and weigh it precisely.
Calculation of the weight of 1 m2 of the textile:
1 m2= 10.000 cm2
If 100 cm2’ weight of it is 2 gr.;
1 m2= 10000cm2 x sample
10.000 x 2
X=
100
Result= 200 gr/ m2
You can find the same result with this simple formula= sample weight x 100. It is suggested that you should weigh 5 samples and then take the avereage of them.
