CAT-8 tachometer can make measurements with and without contact. While in contact, the tachometer rotates with the rotating object and measures the revolution. While not in contact, stick the paper piece to a rotating object and then measure the revolution by pointing the laser to this paper.
GENERAL PROPERTIES OF CAT-8 CONTACT AND NONCONTACT TACHOMETERS:
- CAT 8 can measure revolutions of rotating objects without a contact.
- It can also measure revolutions by a contact to rotating objects.
- There are 2 different test modes: RPM for revolution per minute and REV for counting.
- Wide measurement range and high resolution.
- Backlight LCD display.
- Min/Max memory and storage of the last measurement.
- Leather carrying case.
- 3 pieces of reflectors for noncontact measurements.
- 3 pieces of contact apparatus for contact measurements.
Use of CAT-8 Tachometers:
Noncontact Measurement: Cut small piece from the sticky paper delivered with the device and stick it to rotating object. Point the laser beam to this sticked paper and measure the revolution of rotating object without any contact. The sticky papers can be used repeatedly, so do not throw them away.
Contact Measurement: Contact the apparatus to rotating object and measure the revolution of the rotating object.
